Position Details
The Head of Financial Assistance provides strategic leadership, governance, and operational management of all financial aid initiatives. The role strengthens student access, institutional inclusion, donor confidence, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Set strategic direction for all financial assistance programs.
- Develop policies, frameworks, and governance for equitable aid administration.
- Serve as secretary/member of the Financial Aid Committee.
- Strengthen institutional capacity while ensuring fiscal discipline.
Financial Assistance Program
- Lead planning, administration, and improvement of scholarships, stipends, and donor-funded programs.
- Ensure fair and transparent application assessments.
- Oversee budgeting, reconciliation, and reporting of aid funds.
- Maintain Financial Assistance MIS for data integrity.
- Prepare utilization and impact reports for leadership, donors, and regulators.
- Provide advisory and counseling support to students and families.
Talent Hunt Program
- Lead the Talent Hunt Program to identify high-potential students from underserved communities.
- Manage outreach, testing, selection, orientation, and enrollment.
- Oversee stipend disbursement and student support services (hostel, food, wellbeing).
- Monitor academic progress and retention of Talent Hunt students.
- Maintain updated databases and alumni records.
- Lead promotional initiatives for program visibility.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with academic departments, admissions, finance, and student services.
- Liaise with donors, sponsors, and program partners.
- Provide strategic reporting to senior management on program impact and funding utilization.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Master’s degree from an HEC-recognized university or institute.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years, preferably in financial assistance, scholarships, student services, or higher education administration.
- Leadership Experience: 3–5 years managing financial aid or student support programs.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of financial aid, scholarships, need-based evaluation, and donor programs.
- Experience in MIS, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
- High level of financial, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proven leadership, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder programs in fast-paced academic environments.
