NIH Islamabad is hiring 4 Laboratory Assistants for PHLN National Level under IDSR/PHLN project. Support laboratory operations and assist in diagnostic services at national reference laboratory. Position requires FA/Matric qualification with preference for candidates having public or private sector work experience.
Requirements
- FA (Faculty of Arts) or Matric qualification
- Work experience in public/private sector preferred
- Basic laboratory knowledge
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols
- Ability to assist in diagnostic procedures
- Computer literacy for data recording
- Good communication skills
- Physical fitness for laboratory work
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in team environment
- Willingness to learn laboratory techniques
- Punctuality and reliability
- Cleanliness and hygiene consciousness
- Basic English comprehension
- Understanding of biosafety measures
Responsibilities
- Assist laboratory technologists and technicians in daily operations
- Prepare and clean laboratory equipment and glassware
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Support sample collection and processing activities
- Help in organizing laboratory supplies and inventory
- Assist in basic diagnostic testing procedures
- Record and maintain laboratory data accurately
- Follow biosafety and safety protocols strictly
- Support quality control procedures in laboratory
- Help in preparation of reagents and solutions
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation
- Assist in equipment maintenance and calibration
- Support senior staff in research activities
- Ensure proper disposal of laboratory waste
- Participate in laboratory training programs
- Maintain confidentiality of patient data
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Assist in laboratory audits and inspections
- Support emergency response laboratory activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes
