NIH Islamabad is hiring a Senior Microbiologist for PHLN employment in Azad Jammu & Kashmir under the IDSR project. The role involves leading microbiological research, disease surveillance, and laboratory strengthening. Candidates must have MBBS with postgraduate qualification in Epidemiology/Biostatistics/Public Health (microbiology major) along with minimum 5 years of experience.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent recognized by PMDC
- Postgraduate qualification in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Public Health with microbiology major
- Valid PMDC registration
- Minimum 5 years post-Masters experience
- Experience in microbiological research and public health labs
- Strong statistical analysis skills
- Research publication record preferred
- Knowledge of biosafety and surveillance systems
- Leadership and communication skills
- Willingness to work in AJK
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct microbiological studies
- Perform statistical analysis of health data
- Lead public health laboratory in AJK
- Supervise laboratory staff
- Develop SOPs and research protocols
- Analyze disease surveillance data
- Prepare scientific reports and publications
- Ensure quality assurance in lab testing
- Train laboratory personnel
- Coordinate with NIH and health departments
