NIH Islamabad is hiring 2 Microbiologist/Virologists for PHLN National Level. Conduct advanced laboratory testing for disease surveillance.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC
- Postgraduate qualification in Microbiology/Virology (FCPS/M.Phil/Ph.D) recognized by PMDC/HEC
- 10-15 years experience after post-graduation
- Experience in laboratory planning preferred
- Valid PMDC registration
- Research and publication record
- Experience in molecular diagnostics
- Knowledge of biosafety protocols
- Ability to handle high-risk pathogens
Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological and virological testing for surveillance
- Lead laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases
- Develop and validate new testing protocols
- Train laboratory staff in advanced techniques
- Analyze pathogen data for outbreak response
- Maintain quality assurance in laboratory testing
- Coordinate with international reference laboratories
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Support policy development for laboratory services
- Oversee biosafety and biosecurity protocols
- Manage laboratory information systems
- Participate in external quality assessment schemes
- Provide expert consultation on laboratory matters
