Position Details

Requirements

• Minimum LLB or relevant degree from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university or institute
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Knowledge of banking laws
• Experience in litigation matters
• Knowledge of judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings
• Legal drafting and document vetting skills
• Case management and documentation skills
• Maximum age limit 50 years as of the date of application

Responsibilities

• Protect the rights and interests of the Bank by effectively handling and managing the SME litigation portfolio
• Vet plaints, suits, petitions for leave to appear, replications, writ petitions, appeals and representations
• Review legal documents for submission before competent Courts and judicial or quasi-judicial forums
• Ensure timely issuance of Power of Attorney to external legal counsels
• Ensure timely payment of approved professional fees to external legal counsels
• Liaise with external counsels for Court attendance and case updates
• Obtain Court records and orders from external counsels
• Coordinate with Relationship Managers to share clear instructions, information and documents
• Attend Court proceedings before Courts and judicial or quasi-judicial forums
• Ensure regular preparation of case briefs in the approved format
• Update Court proceedings on a daily basis in the MIS system
• Assist the MIS Team in maintaining an effective and updated litigation record for SME
• Attend auction proceedings of Bank cases along with the Court auctioneer
• Provide assistance to the Court auctioneer when required
• Undertake other assignments entrusted by the Chief Legal Officer and line management
